2016: Finished the year a career worst 15th after playing just 1 tournament… Missed the Griffith Observatory Championship for the first time in his career.
2015: Became just the 3rd Player of the Year in Tour history to go winless the season after wining the award… Finished 3rd in the Tour Championship, his 4th top-3 finish in his last 9 starts in major. It was his best finish in the Tour Championship since the tournament began play on executive length courses… Ended a 2-year par drought at the Griffith Observatory Championship after par’ing the first hole; was 1 of only 2 golfers to register a par… As defending champion with Armen Grigorian was unable to defend their Hooters title when he was forced to withdraw due to illness… Became the 3rd Match Play defending champion in the last 3 years to be eliminated in their first match of the tournament by the #9 seed. 2014: In his 10th year on Tour produced his most successful season, winning Player of the Year for the first time. His previous highest finish was 6th. Won 3 times in just 6 regular season starts (the 2nd multi-win season of his career), and became the 5th golfer in Tour history to produce a 2-tournament winning streak. Won the first 2 Majors of his career and became just the 2nd golfer in Tour history to pull the Match Play-Masters double… After 3 runner-up finishes in his previous 4 Hooters starts, won the Hooters Championship for the first time. He and teammate Armen Grigorian were the only team to break 30 points, the 2nd highest total since the point scale was changed in 2008; and were 1 of only 2 teams to avoid scoring negative points… Following the Hooters entered the Match Play Invitational as the #9 seed and won his first career Major after a dominating performance in both the semi-finals and Finals (he did not lose a single hole in either); remained unbeaten against Patrick Bird (2-0) after defeating him in the 1st round; defeated defending champion Doug Vargas in the quarterfinals (their first career match against one another); in his first career match against #4 Gerry Vaughan, won every hole (3rd player in history to do so) to advance to the Finals. With an 0-3 lifetime record against 5-time champion Armen Grigorian, did not drop a single hole against him in the Finals. Became only the 4th different winner in the past 9 editions of the Match Play Invt’l… Won his 2nd straight Major of the season at the Masters. Tied for best Devil’s Gulch score (+2). He and Chris Moawad were the only golfers to go sub-80; was 1 of only 3 golfers to break 40 on the back 9. 2013: Finished a career best 5th at the Manhattan Beach Championship. His 84 was also a career best at the season opener… Finished 2nd for the 3rd time in the past 4 years at the Hooters Team Play Championship. He and partner Walter Vargas lost on the 2nd hole of sudden death… Qualified for the Masters for the 3rd time… The Match Play Invitational marked the 60th tournament of his career… Finished the season ranked 12th to continue his trend of finishing no better than 10th in odd numbered years… Played in 5 of 10 tournaments, a career low.
2012: Won for the 3rd time in his career after winning the Griffith Observatory Championship. It was his first win since 2010 when he won the very same tournament. He joined Walter Vargas as the only 2-time winners. Went 6 strokes better than his Roosevelt average. Shot below 50 for just the 2nd time in 6 career starts. His 3 pars were 2nd most on the day… Along with partner Chris Moawad finished tied for 2nd at the Hooters. They were the only team with no negative points. It was his 2nd runner-up finish in the last 3 years. Failed to qualify for the Masters but made it in as an alternate. He made the most of his second chance, finishing 3rd and shooting career bests on both the front and back 9. Was 1 of just 3 golfers with a birdie. Tied for 2nd most pars… Shot a new career best at the Charly (35) and was 1 of just 2 golfers to birdie. The Charly marked the 50th tournament of his career… Finished 6th in the Tournament of Champions… Played in 8 of 10 regular season tournaments.
2011: Tied for best gross at the Devil Ball Shootout, a 12-man field, but placed 9th in the overall after his team finished 3rd in the team portion… Played in 7 of 9 tournaments.
2010: After missing the season opener, won 2 of the next 3 tournaments (3 straight top-2 finishes)…Won the Charly Invitational for his first career win and ended the Tour’s second longest winless streak at 34…Won the Griffith Observatory Championship, lowering his previous best score at Roosevelt by 7 strokes.
