Counting 7 years of retirement, his last win was 13 years ago at the 2009 Masters; the win came in just his 5th start since coming out of retirement… Returned to the MGM Match Play Invitational after 10 years. The tournament marked the 50th start of his career… With partner Martin Witt finished 3rd at the Hooters; it was just his 3rd Hooters appearance; with 7 years of retirement and 2 editions lost to Covid, his last Hooters start was in 2008… Missed the Masters after suffering fractures to his toes… Still recovering from his injuries he attempted to play the Griffith Observatory Championship, his first start at Roosevelt in 12 years; after making par on the first hole he lasted just 2 more holes before withdrawing… Played the Tour Championship, finishing 4th… Returned to Terranea for the first time since 2009, finishing 4th at the Tournament of Champions.
2021: Finished tied for 3rd in the Tour Championship, his best result in the 3 tournaments he’s played since returning to the Tour.
2020: Played 2 tournaments in the Covid-affected season… The Tour Championship marked his return to the MGM Tour after 8 years. In a full circle moment, his last Tour appearance was, ironically, the Tour Championship in 2012… Played the Masters, tying for the tournament-high in bogeys (6)… In the 8 years since he last played, the Tour played its 100th tournament, golfers played their 100th tournament, the Tour had its first hole-in-one, babies were born, Chris Moawad surpassed Armen Grigorian as the Tour’s winningest golfer (and won Player of the Year 4 times in a 7 year span), attendance plummeted, tournaments were permanently cancelled (Manhattan Beach and Survivor), 4 golfers retired, and 2 new golfers joined.
2012: Completed his 7th and final season on the MGM Grand Tour, having announced his retirement… Shot a career best back-9 (45) and total round (91) at the Masters… Finished a respectable 6th in his final tournament, the Tour Championship. Matched his career best total round (91) at Scholl and in the process shot a new career best back-9 (44)… Finished runner-up at the Survivor, his best finish in that tournament… Tied for 5th in his first Charly Invitational start in 4 years… Played in 6 of 10 tournaments.
2011: Finished 5th at the new, more challenging Tour Championship…Finished tied for 6th at the Masters. Matched his career best front-9 score…Had his best showing at the Survivor, finishing 5th…Due to splitting time between Los Angeles and New Orleans played in 4 of 9 tournaments.
2010: As defending Masters champion, finished tied for 2nd. Established a new personal best round at the Masters with a front-9 46…Played in 5 of 9 tournaments.
2009: Won the Masters, the first individual victory of his career. Established a new personal back-9 best with a 47, 12 strokes better than his previous Masters showing…Finished as the 5th ranked player, the highest ranking of his career. 2006: As a member of Team East won his first tournament at the All Star Shootout…Finished 3rd/11 in the Tour Championship, matching his career best on a par-27 with a 42 on the front-9…Finished tied for 4th in a full year of Rookie of the Year contention…Played in 6 of 8 tournaments.
