The win was the 30th of his career and 12th in a major; improved to 26-10 in matches, surpassing Armen Grigorian for most wins… Following his Match Play victory, won a record-extending 5th Devil Ball Shootout (3rd in the last 4 editions and 5th in the last 8); became the first golfer to surpass $100 in birdie pool earnings ($102) after his birdie on the par-5 15th ($6)… Finished 3rd at the Masters;  carded a 74, his best score in his last 6 Masters starts; 34, his best back-9 in his last 11 starts; 3rd straight top-3 finish at the Masters; 7th straight top 3 finish in his last 7 starts in a major; had the top Devil’s Gulch score (+2) including a birdie on 15; split the $6 birdie pot with W. Defeated #8 Patrick Bird 5and3 in the first round, #4 Doug Vargas 2-up in the semi-finals (career 2-2 against D. Vargas; 2-1 in the semifinals), then #2 Walter Vargas 2-up in the Finals (career 4-1; first meeting against one another in the Finals). After 4-time winner Armen Grigorian, he is the only 3-time winner; passed Doug Vargas in all time match play wins for 2nd (22). Now holds a 3-2 record in the Finals… Won a record-extending 5th Tour Championship, first since 2013; became the tournament’s first multi-winner since 2011, ending a streak of 8 consecutive different champions since the tournament expanded to a long course format.
