Made just 2 starts and finished with zero victories for the 3rd time in the last 4 years… Finished runner-up at the Tour Championship, the 4th runner-up of his career in a major; carded a tournament-high 4 pars and a tournament-best back-9 40… For the first time in the 15 years of the tournament, was paired with Tim Joe at the Hooters Championship; the two finished 4th out of 4 teams… Missed the Charly Classic for the 3rd time in the past 4 years… Missed the Griffith Observatory Championship for the 4th straight year… Did not play the Devil Ball Shootout and Masters for the 5th straight year… Since the 2015 season has missed 22 of 33 tournaments.
2017:
In his 15th season made just 3 starts, and for the 2nd time in the last 3 years he finished without a victory… The Charly Classic marked the 100th start of his career…  As defending Hooters champions, he and Patrick Bird finished 5th out of 6 teams, becoming the 11th defending champions out of 12 editions to fail to defend their title. Led the first round but suffered a 12-point drop in the 2nd round. 1 of only 2 teams with 1 round (the first) without carding any negative points… As defending champion finished 5th out of 5 golfers at the Tour Championship… Did not play the Masters for the 4th straight year, Devil Ball for the 4th straight year (after winning back-to-back titles), both Match Play and Griffith for the 3rd straight year, and Survivor for the 4th time in the past 5 years.
2016:
Played in 4 of 9 regular season tournaments, finishing the year ranked 6th. Recorded the 10th multiple win season (3rd 3-win season) of his 14-year career… Completed the career slam in majors when he won the season ending Tour Championship (he won the tournament 11 years prior, in 2005, before it was designated a major), joining Doug Vargas and Chris Moawad, the only other golfers to complete the major slam. Playing Vista Valencia for the first time he carded a tournament-high 6 pars and set a new course record (77) plus a new record for best front-9 (36) by 8 strokes; was 1 of 3 golfers to card a birdie, splitting the $15 birdie pool. The tournament was his first start in 4 years at the Tour Championship, and first start in his the last 8 majors. The victory, the 24th of his career, became a Tour-best 8th in majors… Won the Tournament of Champions for a record-extending 6th time, the most wins in any tournament on the MGM Tour. The victory came 10 years to the day of him winning the inaugural edition. Became the 2nd golfer to win the Tour Championship and Tournament of Champions back-to-back. The victories marked the 4th 2-tournament winning streak of his career… With partner Patrick Bird won his 2nd Hooters in the past 3 seasons. He and Bird (teamed together for the first time in 13 years) established a new points record (38) beating the old record by 6, and their 24 first round points was also a new record. The victory, his 4th in the Hooters, tied the tournament record, and marked his first victory after a winless 2015 season that ended a streak of 11 years with at least 1 win… Made his first Survivor start in 4 years, advancing to the final hole for the first time in 10 years. Finished runner-up to Chris Moawad… Played the season-opening Manhattan Beach Championship, making his first appearance on Tour in 10 months.
2015:
On unofficial paternity leave, made just 1 start (Hooters)…  For the first time since 2003 (inaugural season), a period spanning 12 years, did not register at least 1 win… Missed 3 tournaments for the first time in his career: Manhattan Beach, Match Play Invitational, and Griffith Observatory Championship; and by virtue of no wins, the Tournament of Champions. Did not play the Charly Classic for the 2nd time in 3 years, the Masters and Devil Ball for the 2nd straight year, Survivor and Tour Championship for the 3rd straight year.
2014:
Played in 5 of 9 regular season tournaments (matching his career low)… Continued his streak of at least one victory per season since 2004 after winning (with partner Travois Gordón) his 3rd Hooters title. The victory came in his 90th career start and was his 21st win on Tour; his last Hooters win, 5 years prior, came on the same Van Nuys course; he and Gordón were the only team to break 30 points, the 2nd highest total since the point scale was changed in 2008; they were 1 of only 2 teams to avoid scoring negative points; his 3rd career Hooters win places him in a 3-way tie for 2nd on the all time Hooters wins list… Played in the 7th Finals of his career at the Match Play Invitational. Attempting to win a 6th title, he lost to Travois Gordón, failing to win a single hole. The loss was the first in his career to Gordón… Finished T3 at the Manhattan Beach Championship; including the 2013 season, it was his 4th straight top-3 finish in his last 4 Tour starts… As defending champion missed both the Masters and Devil Ball Championships due to the birth of his daughter. He would take the rest of the season off but return for the Tournament of Champions where he would win for the 5th time, tying the Tour record for most wins in a given tournament.
2013:
Despite playing in a career low 5 tournaments still recorded 2 wins, keeping his streak alive of at least one victory in each season since 2004… Won the Masters for the first time since winning the inaugural edition in 2005. His front-9 34 was a new Masters career best and his 8 pars tied for most of the tourney. The win gave him a Tour leading 7th Major title… The tournament was his 85th career start… Won the Devil Ball Shootout for the 2nd year in a row, becoming the first repeat winner of the event since 2007-2008. The win was the 20th of his career. The back-to-back victories (Masters and Devil Ball) marked the 4th time in his career (’05,’06,’07) he recorded a 2-tournament winning streak… His Manhattan Beach Championship start set a new Tour record for consecutive tournaments played (38) but he would miss the next 2 tournaments… After missing just 1 tournament in 10 years he would miss the Charly Invt’l, Hooters, Survivor, and Tour Championship… Finished 7th in the Tour rankings, the worst result of his career… Played in his Tour-leading 8th Tournament of Champions. His 44 marked the first time in his career he failed to break 40 in the tournament.
2012: Recorded 6 top-3 finishes and had the top gross in 3 of 8 tournaments (2nd best gross in another 4)… Entered the season ending Tour Championship with a 1.16 point lead on Chris Moawad for Player of the Year, but a career worst score at Scholl Canyon (special host to the Tour Championship’s 10th edition) dropped him to 2nd in the final rankings. It was his 2nd runner up finish for Player of the Year in the last 3 years and his 6th top-3 finish in 9 years… Won the Grand Lux Match Play Invitational for the 3rd straight year. It was his 5th Grand Lux win, setting a new Tour record for most wins (5) in a single tournament. The successful 3-peat placed him alongside Clint Crump (Charly Invt’l) and Walter Vargas (Survivor) as the only golfers to have accomplished a 3-peat. The win would make him 1 of 4 Tour charter members to win in the 10th anniversary season, and it extended his streak of at least one win per season to 9 straight years… Won the Devil Ball Shootout, the 18th win of his career, leaving the Manhattan Beach Championship, Survivor, and the just introduced Players Championship to complete the career slam. His 2nd win of the season marked his 7th multi-win season in his 10-year career… Tied for 2nd at the inaugural Players Championship in Las Vegas. Had the best gross and most pars. Had he thrown away his worst hole (triple on 4) instead of his par on 12, he would have won… Finished 3rd in the season opening Manhattan Beach Championship, a career-best result. Shot a new career low (68), 6 strokes better than his previous best. Became the 5th golfer in tournament history to break 70. Set a new tournament record for most pars (9)… The Tour Championship marked the 80th tournament of his career… Played in a record 7th straight Tournament of Champions. Finished 3rd… Played in all 10 regular season tournaments.
2011: Repeated as champion at the Grand Lux Match Play Invitational for the second time in his career. It was his 4th win in the past 6 editions. The victory also extended his streak of at least one win on Tour in each year since 2004… Tied for 2nd in the Griffith Observatory Championship, his 4th top-3 finish in the tournament’s 5 year history… Placed 3rd in the Hooters (with partner Clint Crump), marking his 7th top-3 finish in the tournament’s 8 year history… Inauspicious firsts, career-worst performances in 5 tournaments, led to his lowest ever ranking for Player of the Year… Played in all 9 tournaments (plus the Tournament of Champions).
2010: Won the Grand Lux Match Play Invitational (his 4th major) and a record 4th Tournament of Champions for his 14th and 15th career victories (extending his record on the all-time wins list). The victories also extended his streak of at least one win in each year since 2004…His Tournament of Champions win made him the Tour’s first 4-time winner of any single tournament on Tour and his 35 established a new course record…Finished runner-up for Player of the Year, his highest ranking since winning the award in 2007…Shot a Tour Championship front-9 record 29. It was the 2nd time in his career that he has broken 30 on a par-27 (only 2 other golfers have done so)…Turned in a new personal best Griffith Observatory Championship round with a 40…Shot the low gross (32) at the Charly Invt’l…Were it not for his relegation (from 2nd to 6th) at the Masters he would have had 6 straight top-3 finishes from April to October (5 thirds and 1 win)…Played in all 9 tournaments (plus the Tournament of Champions).
2009: Won the Hooters Team Play Championship with Martin Witt, thus extending his streak of at least one win in each year since 2004…Won the Tournament of Champions for the 3rd time in the tournament’s 4 year history…Finished 2nd in the Tour Championship, his highest finish since winning in 2005…Made his 5th straight Final Four appearance in the Grand Lux (extending his Tour record)…Finished 2nd in the Devil Ball Shootout…Finished as the 4th ranked player, having never finished lower than 5th his entire career…Played in all 9 tournaments.
2008: Won his 2nd straight Tournament of Champions (the 2007 edition was delayed until January 2008)… Won the Griffith Observatory Championship for his 10th career victory, becoming the first player to reach double digits in wins. Defeated Doug Vargas in a playoff. Finished runner-up in the Grand Lux Match Play Invt’l. It was his 3rd straight trip to the Finals, a Tour record, and his 4 straight final four appearance, also a Tour record… Finished 4th in the Masters…Won his 2nd tournament of the season, the Charly Invitational, and set a new Tour and tournament record in the process when he shot a 1-over 28 gross (defeated Chris Moawad in a playoff). It would be the first time in MGM Tour history that a Tour player broke 30 on a par-27 course. The victory was the 2nd Charly Invt’l win of his career…Finished 3rd in the ’08 Tournament of Champions… His wins in the 2008 season gave him at least one victory in each of the last 5 years.
2007: Won Player of the Year for the first time in his career…Began the year with 2 straight victories starting with the Captain and Pig Championship (a record 3 straight wins counting last year’s Tournament of Champions victory). His winning total of 14 points set a new record, breaking the previous record total of 11(John Frost)… Successfully defended his title in the Grand Lux Match Play Invt’l, winning the match play tourney for a 2nd year in a row (defeated Doug Vargas on 2nd sudden death hole)… Finished 2nd in the Hooters Team Play Championship (with new partner John Mann) for the 2nd year in a row, making it 4 top-2 finishes in the history of the tournament…Tied for 2nd in the inaugural Griffith Observatory Championship…Placed 3rd in the revamped format of the All Star Shootout…His wins gave him at least one victory in each of the last 4 years…Played in all 9 tournaments, finishing in the top-3 in 5.
2006: Won the Grand Lux Match Play Invt’l which featured the largest field (16) in the tournament’s history.  His win brought his record Tour total to 5 and leaves him 2 shy of the “career slam” (3 if one counts the just introduced Survivor Challenge)…Along with Cary Sachs (as defending champions) finished 2nd in the Hooters Team Play Championship…Finished 3rd (as defending champion) in the Masters and his 72 (gross) established a new Masters record low…Was runner-up in the inaugural Survivor Challenge…His front-9 31 in the Tour Championship established a new Tour record low on a par-27…Played in all 8 tournaments, finishing no worse than 3rd in half of them and no worse than 5th in all 8…Won the inaugural MGM Tour, Tournament of Champions.
