TIM JOE WINS MATCH PLAY
Moawad’s Bid For 5th Straight Title Ends In Sudden Death Playoff
As the saying goes, It’s never over till it’s over.. Sunday, Tim Joe and Chris Moawad produced one of the more dramatic finishes to the Match Play Invitational in recent memory. Against all odds a combination of a round-saving recovery shot by Joe and a jaw-dropping missed putt by Moawad saw Joe win the final hole to force a playoff. On any other course Moawad’s putt was a tap in for the win. But the greens at Maggie Hathaway – which wreaked havoc on the golfers all day – dealt him a cruel blow at the most inopportune time. Joe prevailed in the playoff after Moawad’s putt to halve the hole came up short.
