When the MGM Tour opens its 18th season (with a projected 13 golfers) a familiar face will be teeing it up once again. After a 2-year break P-Jay Fidler makes his return to action. Fidler, whose last appearance was the 2017 Masters, has 4 career wins (12th on the all-time list) and 1 major title (2012 Tour Championship). His last victory was the 2015 Charly Classic. Golf clubs won’t be the only thing he brings with him this season. He introduces newcomer Lukas Wyatt who will make his MGM Tour debut.

Milestones

This year marks the 15th season for Doug Vargas, Chris Moawad, and Walter Vargas… currently sitting at 98 career starts, Walter Vargas will be the latest entrant to the 100 club.

Looking to turn the tide

John Mann, whose last victory was the 2012 Masters, holds the Tour’s current longest winless streak at 25 tournaments… Doug Vargas, 3rd on the all-time career wins list, and Ed Quiroz, who had 3 straight double digit win seasons, were winless the last 2 years… Walter Vargas, 2-time winner of the Griffith Observatory Championship, has missed that tournament for the past 7 years.

Targets

The season opening Charly Classic is the last remaining victory needed for Doug Vargas to complete the career slam… Reigning 2-time Hooters champion Clint Crump will look to become the first golfer to 3-peat in the event… Major champions Tim Joe (Masters) and Chris Moawad (Match Play and Tour Championship) will aim to defend their titles… 6-time Player of the Year Chris Moawad will strive for an unprecedented 3-peat as Player of the Year.
