Saturday, The Links at Terranea on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, plays host to the MGM Grand Tour’s 2016 Tournament of Champions. It’s the 11th edition of the tournament and 8th at Terranea.
Armen Grigorian (Tour Championship, Hooters) record-extending 10th appearance
The new Tour champion returns after last year’s absence, his only blemish in the 11 years of this tournament. Aiming to be just the 2nd Tour champion to win the TOC in the same year.
Ed Quiroz (Manhattan Beach and Match Play Invt’l) 2nd appearance
The defending champion aiming to be just the 2nd golfer to ever go back-to-back.
Chris Moawad (Survivor, Devil Ball) 8th appearance
Each time he has won this tournament (2008, 2012) he did so as Player of the Year. Can he make it 3 for 3?
Patrick Bird (Hooters, Griffith) 4th appearance
Making his Terranea debut (he qualified but did not play in 2013). First TOC appearance since 2008.
Martin Witt (Charly Classic) 5th appearance
3rd straight TOC appearance and 4th in the past 5 years. Saturday marks his 75th career start.
Clint Crump (The Masters) 5th appearance
Makes the cut for the 2nd year in a row and 3rd appearance in the past 4 years.
