2016 Player of the Year Points

20160717_100404

Ed Quiroz’s
latest result – runner up at the Masters – was his 4th top-2 finish of the season (which includes a remarkable 3 sudden death playoffs).  He has effectively locked up Player of the Year honors.

Crump

Clint Crump’s Masters victory was his 2nd career win in a major, and first in 6 years. He became the 8th different winner of the Masters after winning a playoff for the first time in his career. The victory, the 10th of his career, ended a 10-tournament winless streak, and moved him into a tie with Martin Witt for 5th on the MGM Tour’s all-time wins list.

Vargas

With just 1 tournament result this season, Walter Vargas finds himself in the top-10 in the latest Tour rankings.  Vargas nearly won the Masters, his first tournament in a year.  It was his 7th straight top-3 finish at the Masters.

Frost

For John Frost, it’s a virtual repeat of the 2014 season in which he found himself 273 points off the lead with 3 tournaments remaining.

4 of the top 6 spots in the current standings are occupied by Tour charter members.

Devil is in the details

This year’s Devil Ball Shootout has been postponed indefinitely due to a lack of players.
