MOAWAD CLOSING IN
Chris Moawad has moved to within 2 points of current #1 Martin Witt in the latest standings for the Tour’s top golfer. The 3-time Player of the Year topped the standings in May before giving way to Witt in June. Doug Vargas was the big mover following the Masters, up 3 spots from 7th to 4th. Vargas finished runner-up for the 2nd straight tournament and recorded his 2nd straight top-3 finish in a major.
Younger brother, and newly crowned Masters champion Walter, won his 3rd career major, taking sole possession of 4th on the all-time major wins list.
Having missed the cut at the Masters, John Frost’s personal best consecutive tournaments played streak ended at 18.
